Stop on by & meet our team of lovable misfits, circus enthusiasts and admin wizards!
Cath has been with In Your Space Circus since 2012, managing the Company but very much leading the team from behind!
Cath graduated from Cardiff University in English Literature and quickly realised that she was qualified for nothing! So after a few overseas adventures she fell into the field of youth development, working with overseas charity Raleigh International and then Belfast Activity Centre. The Circus came calling in 2008 when she joined Belfast Circus School as their Senior Fundraiser...and a passion soon turned into a love!
Cath's focus is mainly on Company development and fundraising to ensure great things can happen for lots of people, with an aspiration that In Your Space Circus will spread quirky, colourful, happiness aross Derry-Londonderry...Northern Ireland...and eventually The World!

Rachel Melaugh is IYSC’s Creative Director and a performer herself! Her passion has always been in political theatre, performing and creating new worlds and experiences for audiences to enjoy. Rach has more than 10 years’ performing experience both onstage and in street theatre contexts across Ireland and the UK. Rachel is passionate about creating fresh, innovative work on the streets and is responsible for IYSC’s most ambitious productions. Rachel conceptualises, directs and produces all our magical installations and shows and looks after our portfolio of acts popping up across the country year-in-year-out! Rachel has a keen eye for programming and has been directing our flagship festival 'Carnival of Colours' since 2019. She loves collaborative working and devising and typically works across multiple artforms, connecting with, providing opportunities for (and advocating for) artists across the NW and NI. In her spare time (ha!) Rach is typically out performing or brushing up on her hula hoop skills!

Meet Anna Kelly, our Admin and Finance Officer. Anna is an absolute wizz with a spreadsheet and keeps everyone organised around the office.
Anna graduated from the University of Ulster with a degree in Business and Human Resource Management and since she joined us she has become a qualified Accounts Technician. Her background is in retail and hospitality, but she made the big leap into the arts when she joined us in January 2019...and we are so lucky to have her!
In her spare time (which is minimal!!) she enjoys true crime series. She is also a dedicated mum to her boys Adam and Fionn who keep her busy when she's not balancing our books!

Ciara Canning is the Heritage Project Manager for the Cathedral School project. Her role ensures that the project to create a new home for the Circus School is coproduced with its communities. She is excited to work with such an iconic building which is dearly loved in Derry/ Londonderry.
Ciara originally studied architecture before moving into arts and heritage management. She previously worked as a Community History Curator in England and has delivered cultural heritage outreach programmes in the Middle East.
In her spare time, Ciara can be found scavenging charity shops for her next upcycling challenge or surrounded by puppies as a volunteer for Irish Guide Dogs. Ciara is new to Circus but after years of metaphorically spinning plates, she’s excited to be working on some circus skills so she can finally learn to spin plates for real!

Luke is our early years Seedlings Circus coordinator, working tirelessly to bring joy to the hearts of children. Luke also teaches in our Youth Circus and Adults Circus program ensuring that no one is left out of the circus experience. In fact sometimes you may see him late at night jumping down from the roof tops teaching circus out on the streets like a vigilante crime fighter. Where ever there is a need for circus he'll be there. POW!!! Circus in your face!! BANG!!! Circus in the air like you just don't care!! CRASH!!! A circus sandwich, with a unicycle side salad.. Also Luke works in the office behind the scenes, making sure that our projects are well organised and delivered. Some say Admin is his middle name, others say it's Danger (None of which are true)...
